Solid Waste Management and Regulatory Compliance Services
SOLID WASTE SERVICES
Barker Lemar was founded in 1995 on the principles of providing sound integrated solid waste management services. Our primary focus is to provide solid waste management and regulatory compliance services; we currently provide these services to more than 65 active and closed landfills, compost facilities, and transfer stations throughout the Midwest.
With our experience in servicing a diverse and large number of solid waste clients, comprehensive knowledge of solid waste regulations and their applications, and our knowledgeable staff, we have been able to successfully decrease operational and environmental monitoring costs while increasing operational efficiencies for our clients.
As a completely modular and scalable solution, Barker Lemar SMART SystemsTM offers facilities of any size access of data and control of monitoring points, creating efficiencies throughout their operations. SMART Systems allows for instant access to remote monitoring points from the comfort of your office, a vehicle, or even at home. It can alert you to compliance deadlines, email and text operational alarms, and allow control of equipment in the field from anywhere you have access to a PC or smart device.
Look to Barker Lemar to be your partner in the planning, design, and implementation of the following solutions:
Barker Lemar provides an extension of our client's staff to complete the many field tasks on a monthly, quarterly, and/or annual basis. Providing staff and expertise in application across multiple sites allows our crews to be efficient and knowledgeable when troubleshooting challenges in the field, in addition to completing routine maintenance work.
Our knowledgeable instructors can provide your employees with the training and certifications necessary to remain in compliance at your facility. We tailor our courses to your unique facility and training needs. Training events can be hosted at your facility, a local gathering place, or at Barker Lemar Headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa.
A Tipping Fee is a fee paid by anyone who disposes of waste in a landfill. Usually, this fee is based on the weight of the waste per ton. This serves in helping with the maintenance and other operating costs of a landfill. Since 1995, Barker Lemar Engineering Consultants have developed a State of Iowa Tipping Fee Map; compiling data from facilities across the state. Pick up your tipping fee map at the Annual Fall Iowa Society of Solid Waste Operations (ISOSWO) Conference or download an electronic copy below.
