Barker Lemar Engineering Consultants (BLEC) was initially incorporated as Barker Environmental Services in July 1995. It was the belief of its founders Mike Barker and Tracy Lemar that clients were best served in a partnership that brought value above expectations. Tracy brought his reputation for creative and innovative engineering and Mike brought his expertise and strong group of partners in the solid waste industry. With this foundation BLEC established a benchmark and company philosophy that is committed to relationship building and the use of leading technologies to bring value to our partners.
In 1997 Tim Buelow joined Mike and Tracy as a principal. Tim brought his background and reputation for detailed problem solving and a full list of partners in the UST industry. Over the years BLEC has recruited some of the best engineers, geologist, environmental scientist and technicians. Using the same philosophy of exceeding expectations with our staff we have grown an average 25% per year over the past 17 years.
In 2007, Barker Lemar reorganized its corporate structure and established Barker Lemar Geothermal Services (BLGS) as a separate and unique company. The reorganization had obvious financial benefits regarding insurance and bonding capacity. It would also allow BLGS to focus its resources on geothermal services exclusively and grow its capabilities and client base as alternative energy technologies become more prevalent and advantageous in the marketplace.
